Patience Is What I Learned From 20 Years in Prison, Says Abdul Rahim

Abdul Rahim, who spent 20 years on death row in a Saudi prison, has returned to Kerala after being released following a global crowdfunding campaign. In an interview, he said that the greatest lesson he learned from his ordeal was patience.

Rahim was convicted in a murder case and spent two decades in prison, fearing execution. He said that his lack of patience led to his imprisonment, but the experience taught him to be patient in all situations. He expressed gratitude to the thousands of people from around the world who contributed funds ranging from one rupee to one crore, enabling his release.

Rahim also thanked the Indian embassy in Riyadh, the legal aid committee, and journalist friends who first visited him. He said he now wants to start a new life with his family and hopes to marry an orphaned girl.
