The Malayalam film industry’s actor organization AMMA is once again in the midst of a major controversy as actress Ansiba Hassan and Neena Kurup have come forward with serious allegations against executive committee member Tini Tom. The allegations range from verbal abuse, smear campaigns, and character assassination to claims of a coordinated gang controlling the organization.

Ansiba Hassan, who served as the joint secretary of AMMA, has accused Tini Tom of spreading false rumors about her, including claims that she has illicit relationships with multiple people and that she is a Jihadi attempting to convert others. Speaking about the harassment she faced, Ansiba revealed that Tini Tom allegedly made abusive remarks against her during the AMMA family gathering event. She stated that certain members within AMMA joined hands to target her after she decided to contest for the joint secretary position.

The controversy took a more dramatic turn when Neena Kurup also filed a complaint against Tini Tom, alleging that he publicly used obscene language against her during a stage event. According to Kurup, Tini Tom verbally abused her in front of others at the AMMA family gathering held in February. She further claimed that he physically lunged at her during the altercation.

The tensions within AMMA became public earlier when actress Lakshmipriya sent a highly abusive voice message to Neena Kurup over a scheduling dispute involving a dance program and fashion show. In the leaked message, Lakshmipriya was heard using extremely vulgar language and hurling personal insults at Kurup. This incident prompted Tini Tom to step in as Lakshmipriya’s protector, escalating the conflict further.

The internal strife within AMMA has exposed deep factionalism. Former treasurer Unni Shivapal was removed from his position following allegations of financial mismanagement raised by Tini Tom. The treasurer duties were temporarily handed over to actor Kailash. Ansiba has alleged that the complaints against Unni Shivapal were fabricated as part of a larger plan orchestrated by Tini Tom and his group to tighten their control over the organization.

Shwetha Menon, another executive committee member, has come out in defense of Tini Tom. She claimed that Ansiba had not raised any such allegations before and that the complaints emerged only after the matter was discussed on television channels. Shwetha questioned how Ansiba could have heard remarks she was not present for and insisted that the general body is the highest court of the organization. Critics have pointed out the irony of Shwetha defending Tini Tom while questioning the validity of the complaints.

Ansiba Hassan has rejected the allegations made against her and reiterated that she resigned from AMMA due to Tini Tom’s harassment. The escalating feud has led to calls for dissolving AMMA altogether, with many arguing that the organization has become a den of character assassinations and gang-like activities rather than a body representing the welfare of artists.

The controversy continues to unfold as more actresses come forward with their experiences, raising serious questions about the safety and dignity of women within the Malayalam film industry’s primary trade organization.
