Dr Vasuki IAS Tells Students to Openly Speak About Their Problems

Dr Vasuki IAS, in an inspiring interaction with school students, encouraged them to speak openly about their problems without fear of punishment or judgment. She emphasized that students could share anything that troubles them, including things that adults or teachers may have done to hurt them, without any fear of being punished.

During the session, a student named Adithya spoke about how lack of confidence and low self-esteem are the biggest problems students face today. Dr Vasuki asked the students what self-esteem means and engaged them in a discussion about insecurity and inferiority complex.

The students pointed out that social media plays a major role in increasing feelings of inferiority. Comparing oneself with others online leads to jealousy and reduced self-worth. Dr Vasuki agreed and discussed how social media, when used correctly, can be beneficial, but excessive use can negatively impact self-esteem.

The conversation also touched upon how the current generation faces more peer pressure and insecurity compared to previous generations, largely due to the constant exposure to curated lives on social media platforms.
