Enforcement Directorate Raids Residences Linked to Pinarayi Vijayan

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a series of coordinated raids early this morning at approximately 12 locations linked to former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The searches, conducted by central agencies with the protection of central forces, include his residences in Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur, as well as the home of his son-in-law, Mohammad Riyas, and various associated establishments. The operation follows a High Court directive to continue investigations into the CMRL-Exalogic case.

In response to the raids, CPM MP John Brittas attempted to reach the former Chief Minister’s residence but was blocked by security personnel. Meanwhile, senior CPM leaders, including V. Sivankutty and V.K. Prasanth, have staged protests outside the premises. CPM state secretary M.V. Govindan has called for widespread protests across the state, including torchlight marches, condemning the action as a politically motivated move by the BJP to weaken the party.
