Kerala Home Minister said that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid in the state without informing the state government or the police. The minister stated that the central agency carried out the operation as part of an investigation into a case already registered by them, and the state government had no role in it.
The minister clarified that the state government was not even informed about the raid, and the police were only alerted when a law and order situation arose due to a gathering of people. He praised the Home Minister for deploying police to prevent conflict, even though the government was unaware of the raid. The minister emphasized that attacking investigation officers and damaging their vehicles is a serious crime that should not be repeated.
Regarding the case, the minister noted that the investigation is being conducted by a central agency in a case where a court had earlier dismissed a petition to stop the probe and directed the ED to continue. He questioned whether the state government has the authority to dictate how the ED should conduct its investigation, stating that the government’s role is limited to maintaining law and order.
