A fake poster featuring Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan’s name and photo is circulating widely on social media platforms ahead of Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha). The poster claims that every ration card holder will receive 5 kg of basmati rice and 2 kg of pure ghee.

According to available information, the card has no official basis whatsoever. The image has been going viral on WhatsApp family groups and various social media platforms. The poster is designed to appear as if the new UDF government will distribute these items through ration shops.

However, no official notification has been issued about any such scheme. The poster carries the title “Bakrid Gift” with Satheesan’s picture prominently featured.

Cyber experts and media observers advise the public to verify information from official sources before believing political posts and announcements circulating on social media. Incidents of misinformation using fake cards, edited images, and false claims have increased in recent times.
