A tragic helicopter crash in Dawson County, Georgia, on Friday night claimed the life of a young Malayali pilot, Dave Fijy, just hours after his wedding. The bride, Jasni, was critically injured and is currently hospitalized. The accident occurred around 10:30 PM on May 29, shortly after the couple departed from their wedding venue in a Robinson R44 helicopter.

The helicopter, operated by Prestige Helicopters, crashed in a wooded area near 24 Mount Vernon Drive in Dawsonville. Initial reports suggested Dave was piloting, but authorities later confirmed another experienced pilot was at the controls. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation, focusing on sudden weather changes and low visibility as possible causes. The crash has deeply shaken the Malayali community in Atlanta, with friends and family mourning the loss of a promising pilot.
