Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has hit back at the state government, claiming that the Home Department was completely unaware of the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) recent actions in Kerala. The remark came in response to the ED’s searches and summons related to the CMRL and Exalogic cases, which have sparked a political row.
Chennithala alleged that the state police and Home Secretary were kept in the dark about the ED’s operations, questioning the government’s claim of being proactive. He also criticized the ruling LDF for its handling of the situation, accusing them of shielding the accused.
The ED’s actions, including searches at locations linked to CPI(M) leaders and the issuance of an E-rate notice to Narendra Modi, have intensified the political battle in the state. The opposition has demanded a thorough probe, while the government maintains that it is cooperating with central agencies.
