Protest Committee Urges Government to Cancel K-Rail Silver Line Project

A protest committee has urged the chief minister to cancel the K-Rail Silver Line project and issue a formal order stopping it. The group also asked for the removal of the yellow boundary markers that were placed for the project.

The memorandum raised several demands, including cancellation of land acquisition notifications, withdrawal of cases, and compensation for those who were arrested during the protests.

According to the report, many families are still unable to sell land or take loans because the yellow markers placed years ago remain on their properties. The committee says the project should be abandoned entirely.

The issue has remained politically sensitive in Kerala, and the memorandum adds fresh pressure on the state government to take a clear decision on the long-pending project.
