Kerala Health Minister K. Muralidharan has announced that the state government is fully prepared to establish AIIMS in Kerala, stating it is willing to provide land anywhere the central government finds suitable. The minister made these remarks while addressing the long-standing demand for an AIIMS in the state.
Speaking to the media, Muralidharan said the state government has no particular preference or allergy toward any specific location. Whether it is Palakkad, Kasaragod, or Thiruvananthapuram, the government is ready to hand over land as per the central government’s choice. He emphasized that the sole objective is to bring AIIMS to Kerala at the earliest.
The minister also made a pointed remark directed at Thrissur MP Suresh Gopi, noting that even the BJP MP has not claimed that AIIMS will come to Thrissur. Muralidharan recalled that when he was an MP, he had raised the matter in Parliament and even brought it before the Estimates Committee. However, the previous state government had insisted on a particular location.
Muralidharan clarified that the state currently has government land available in Balussery and other locations that could be offered. He reiterated that the government is open to any location suggested by the central health ministry and will acquire the necessary land without any delay.
