The VD Satheesan-led UDF government in Kerala has officially allocated official residences to its council of ministers. The final list was issued from the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday evening after extensive discussions, with multiple ministers initially vying for the same bungalows.
Ramesh Chennithala, who had previously expressed his preference for ‘Pamba’ near Cliff House (the Chief Minister’s official residence), has been allotted the same bungalow. Pamba was previously occupied by Muhammad Riyas, the Tourism and Public Works minister in the previous government. Sunny Joseph has been allotted ‘Ashoka’, also located near Cliff House.
The Public Works Department has stated that maintenance work is required in all vacated buildings. An estimate of Rs 3.96 crore has been approved and an order issued for the repairs.
