Kerala is likely to get an additional Union minister in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle of the Modi government, according to reports from national media. The reshuffle is expected before the 10th of next month and may involve significant changes, with several ministers being replaced.

The BJP has already appointed new state presidents in four states as part of a larger reorganization. The party is also considering V. Muraleedharan for the post of national general secretary. The reshuffle is seen as an effort to improve the government’s image ahead of upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, and Punjab. Kerala’s improved performance in the recent assembly elections, where the BJP won three seats, has increased the state’s chances of getting more representation in the Union cabinet.
