During the inauguration of KSRTC’s Priyadarshini free travel bus service in Kollam, hot payasam was accidentally spilled on Minister Bindu Krishna’s head. The incident occurred inside a crowded bus when a personal staff member was passing the payasam and a Congress worker’s hand accidentally hit it during slogan shouting.
Although the minister was visibly upset by the incident, she did not file a formal complaint. Those nearby quickly wiped her head and face with a shawl, preventing any burns, and she later completed her journey to Chinnakkada. The Special Branch is currently investigating the incident and will submit a report. Interestingly, shortly after the inauguration, the Priyadarshini bus broke down near the Rameswaram temple due to an air leak, forcing around 25 passengers to board another bus.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident at the Adoor KSRTC bus stand in Pathanamthitta, a KSRTC employee named R. Venu was accused of hitting a begging woman with a stick. While KSRTC authorities denied the allegation, stating they only asked her to leave the begging-free zone, the woman, an Andhra Pradesh native, has filed a police complaint and sought medical treatment at a general hospital.
