Auspicious Signs on Makara Chova Day

Today is Makara Chova, a highly significant day in Malayalam astrology, coinciding with the third birth star. According to a popular spiritual video, this day brings special auspicious signs for those blessed by the divine.

The video lists several omens that indicate approaching good fortune. These include waking up early in the Brahma muhurta, hearing the sound of anklets while waking, seeing a yellow snake (chera) in the yard, or spotting a mongoose in the northern direction. Other signs include milk boiling over unintentionally, flowers blooming in abundance, and birds bringing yellow objects to the house.

Viewers are encouraged to visit a temple today, light lamps, and chant the Panchakshari mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” as well as the Chandrasekhara mantra. A simple ritual involving raw rice and a one-rupee coin tied in a white cloth is also recommended for financial prosperity, to be kept for 21 days before using the rice for payasam and donating the coin at a Shiva temple.
