Malayalam cinema’s beloved lady superstar Manju Warrier made her Kuchipudi debut at the Guruvayur temple after a 14-year gap, marking a significant comeback to dance. The event, held recently, saw her family including daughter Meenakshi, parents, brother, and sister-in-law in attendance, all expressing immense joy.

Director Sathyan Anthikad, who was present, recalled seeing the same Manju from the ‘Thooval Kottaram’ days, saying her performance showed no trace of the long hiatus. Manju admitted it was one of the most tense moments of her life, as she felt the weight of expectations from the audience who had come to see her. She had earlier credited her dance teacher Geetha for inspiring her to take up Kuchipudi again after her marriage and family life.
