MVD Ernakulam Cracks Down on Stunt Video Posters on Social Media

The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) in Ernakulam has intensified action against individuals posting dangerous driving stunt videos on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Through its Cyber Wing, the MVD identifies violators, imposes fines, and mandates a one-day compulsory awareness class.

In recent days, several young people have been sent to these classes. The Cyber Wing uses digital systems to track vehicles by number plate, location, and background details. Offenders face fines not only for stunt driving but also for illegal modifications such as unauthorized rear-view mirror and silencer changes.

The first awareness class for caught violators is scheduled for June 26. MVD officials noted that the majority of violators are aged between 19 and 30, while those above 30 generally drive more responsibly. Social media monitoring will continue strictly in the coming days.
