In a shocking incident in Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram, a 36-year-old woman named Haseena was brutally murdered by her husband, Suresh, in front of their eldest daughter. Following the crime, which occurred early Wednesday morning, the accused fled the scene in a car, leaving their four children orphaned.
The couple, who had been facing severe domestic disputes, had a major altercation after Haseena returned home on Tuesday after being missing for a week. Although the Mannanthala police had intervened and sent them home after counseling, another fight broke out early Wednesday morning. Suresh slit Haseena’s throat with a kitchen knife, washed the weapon in the bathroom, and escaped.
After fleeing, Suresh called his eldest daughter, Amritha, telling her he would not return and asking her to look after her younger siblings, raising concerns of suicide. The police have launched an active search for Suresh, tracking CCTV footage, and have recovered his mobile phone near Karamana. Relatives revealed that Suresh had a history of extreme suspicion when intoxicated and had previously attempted suicide two weeks prior.
