Kochi: The Kerala High Court has stated that the scientific analysis report on the gold plates recovered from Sabarimala will require another ten days. The tests are currently being conducted at the Central Lab in Jamshedpur. Only after this report is received can the court determine the exact quantity of gold actually stolen from Sabarimala temple.
The investigating officer informed the High Court Devaswom Bench that a complete charge sheet can only be prepared after receiving the scientific report. As a result, the charge sheet is now expected only by the end of June 2026. The court has adjourned the case hearing to June 6.
The scientific report is expected to clarify whether the gold plates were replaced with copper plates. Additionally, it is crucial for investigating irregularities in the gold plating work carried out in 2025 under the Devaswom administrative committee led by P.S. Prashanth. The Sabarimala gold theft case has sparked major political debates in Kerala and was a significant factor affecting the Left Front in recent elections.
