A specific sequence of ritual offerings performed over three consecutive weeks at Lord Shiva temples is believed to bring immense prosperity and eliminate hardships from one’s life. According to traditional beliefs shared by spiritual guides, performing these rituals on consecutive Mondays or Saturdays in the morning can help individuals overcome life’s obstacles and fulfill their deepest wishes.
Before starting the ritual, devotees are advised to visit a nearby Shiva temple in the morning after bathing. The process begins by offering a handful of yellow or red flowers to Nandi, the sacred bull, and praying for the successful completion of the offerings. On the first Monday or Saturday, devotees should book and perform two specific offerings: the “Pinvilakku” (the rear lamp representing Goddess Parvati) and the “Ayursukta Pushpanjali.”
On the second consecutive week, the devotee must again offer the “Pinvilakku” along with the “Shiva Sahasranama Pushpanjali.” For the third and final week, the ritual concludes with the “Pinvilakku” and “Elaneer Abhishekam” (tender coconut water oblation). Devotees are advised to coordinate with the temple priest or committee in advance regarding the timing of the abhishekam to ensure the ritual is completed smoothly.
