The security cover of former Indian cricket team captain and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has been downgraded. The security category provided to him has been reduced from Z category to Y category by the authorities in West Bengal.

Under the new security arrangement, Ganguly will receive Y-category protection instead of the higher Z-category security he was previously provided. The decision to revise the security cover was taken following a routine review of security threat perceptions.
