Sreedevi Unni, the mother of the late National Award-winning actress Monisha Unni, recently shared heartwarming and nostalgic memories of her daughter’s early days in cinema, her unique personality, and her interactions with legendary co-stars.

Recalling Monisha’s entry into the film industry, Sreedevi Unni spoke about how Monisha transformed from a playful girl into a mature-looking actress simply by wearing her mother’s saree for a screen test. She also fondly remembered a special keepsake preserved in their home—a black cigarette tin gifted to Monisha by megastar Mammootty during the shoot of the film Sayam Sandhya. Monisha had accepted the unique gift with her characteristic charm, saying she would keep it, and it remains safely stored in her cupboard alongside her childhood dolls and bangles.
