How to Know If Your House Has Good Vastu: 16 Key Signs to Check Yourself

Vastu Shastra plays a crucial role in determining the peace, prosperity, and health of a household. According to traditional Vastu principles, there are 16 key indicators that can help homeowners self-assess whether their residence possesses positive Vastu energy. Having at least five of these elements aligned correctly is said to bring immense blessings, while poor Vastu alignment can lead to constant family disputes, financial distress, and persistent illnesses.

Key among these guidelines is the placement of the kitchen, which yields the best results in the South-East or North-East corners. Similarly, household wells should ideally be located in the North, East, or North-East, as placing them in the South or West is believed to bring severe misfortune. The Pooja room or prayer space is most auspicious when situated in the North-East corner, inviting divine energy and spiritual growth into the home.

Structural features like staircases and steps also hold significance; entrance steps should always be in even numbers, and the staircase must not directly align with the main door. For financial growth, heavy storage units, cash lockers, and valuables should be kept in the South-West corner (Kanni moola), with almirah doors opening towards the North, the direction of Kubera. Additionally, sharing walls between the bathroom and the kitchen or Pooja room should be strictly avoided to prevent the loss of positive energy.
