The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau in Kerala has initiated action against a government doctor who was found engaging in illegal private practice at a private hospital. The doctor was reportedly drawing a Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) while simultaneously consulting patients privately in violation of government rules.

The crackdown highlights the state’s strict stance against government medical officers who violate service rules. Government doctors receiving the Non-Practising Allowance are legally barred from conducting private consultations, and the Vigilance department’s intervention follows specific intelligence regarding such unauthorized practices.
