Malayalam actor Vinod Kovoor had a narrow escape after falling into an open concrete water tank at his apartment complex. The incident occurred late at night when the actor went to the parking area to dispose of waste. He suffered severe bruising to his ribs and is currently undergoing treatment and resting at his flat.

The accident happened around 10:30 PM after Vinod returned from a shooting schedule of the popular TV show ‘Marimayam’. While walking near the water tank to wash a bucket, he stepped on the iron lid, which was not closed properly. The lid flipped, causing him to fall into the deep tank. Fortunately, he managed to grab the edge of the tank’s opening and hang on, preventing himself from sinking completely into the water.

After multiple failed attempts to climb out and call for help, Vinod eventually managed to pull himself up. Experiencing severe chest and hip pain, he alerted his family and flat security, who rushed him to a nearby specialty hospital. Although X-rays revealed no fractures, doctors confirmed severe bruising to his ribs, which is causing breathing difficulties. He has been advised to rest for 48 hours, with a CT scan recommended if the pain persists.
