A major controversy has erupted in Kerala following revelations that the office of ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar was actively involved in sabotaging the investigation into the assault of Youth Congress workers during the Navakerala Sadas. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has issued notices to two Grade SIs attached to the ADGP’s office, exposing an alleged conspiracy to alter the case diary and court reports.
According to the investigating officer’s testimony, the case diary was altered directly under the instructions of the ADGP to protect the accused, who are security officers of the Chief Minister. While ADGP Ajith Kumar has claimed that the alterations were made without his knowledge by his staff, the SIT has secured concrete evidence, including phone records and tower locations, proving that the investigating officers were summoned to the ADGP’s office to carry out the changes.
Senior leader Ramesh Chennithala has strongly reacted to the developments, warning that further evidence of illegal interventions by CPM leaders through ADGP Ajith Kumar will be exposed in the coming days. The opposition alleges that this is a clear attempt to use police influence to cover up political violence, which will lead to significant political repercussions in the state.
