According to Kerala Vastu Shastra, a home has eight Vastu positions (Ashta Vastu Sthanangal) that can either destroy or protect the household. If these eight positions are correctly placed, the residents will experience prosperity, success, and overall well-being. Conversely, any defect in these positions can lead to continuous sorrow, debt, and health issues.

The first sign is the number of steps at the entrance. The steps should always be in even numbers (2, 4, 6) and never odd (1, 3, 5). When you step onto the house floor, the third step should land on the floor itself, not on an additional step. Odd-numbered steps are believed to bring financial ruin.

The second sign is the direction of the pathway leading to the house. The best direction is the northeast corner, followed by north or east. The pathway should never directly face the main door; it should be offset to the left or right. A pathway from the southwest corner (Kannimoola) is considered extremely inauspicious, leading to a hellish life and loss of wealth.

The third sign is the placement of wealth or almirah. The ideal location is the southwest corner (Kannimoola) of the house, preferably in the master bedroom. The almirah should face north, the direction of wealth. Opening the almirah towards north invites prosperity.

The fourth sign is the kitchen and stove position. The cook should face east or north while cooking. The kitchen itself is best located in the southeast (Agni corner) or northeast corner. These placements ensure auspiciousness and prosperity.

The fifth sign concerns the bathroom location. Bathrooms should never be in the southwest, northeast, or southeast corners. The best location is the northwest corner. A bathroom in the southwest corner is particularly harmful, leading to ruin.

The sixth sign is the placement of water sources like wells, ponds, or water tanks. The ideal location is the northeast corner, followed by north or east. A well in the south or southwest is disastrous, causing total loss.

The seventh sign is the bed position in the bedroom. The head should be placed towards the south or east. Sleeping with head south and waking facing east, or head east and waking facing north, is considered highly auspicious for the householder.

The eighth sign is the view directly in front of the main door. There should be no broken tiles, firewood, thorny plants, or dead trees. Instead, a Tulsi plant (holy basil) in front of the main door brings all prosperity. Ensure the area is clean and free of defects.

Check your home for these eight signs. If all are correct, your home is blessed with Rajayoga Vastu. If any defect is found, correct it to invite wealth, health, and success.
