On the auspicious occasion of Bada Mangalwar, a special ritual dedicated to Lord Hanuman is highly recommended for overcoming life’s obstacles and fulfilling deep desires. This sacred day, falling on a Tuesday during the auspicious month, offers a powerful opportunity for devotees to connect with Lord Hanuman through disciplined prayers, specific chanting routines, and a unique symbolic letter-writing ritual.
The ritual can be performed either in the morning between 3:30 AM and 7:00 AM, or in the evening between 5:30 PM and 11:00 PM. Devotees should clean a photo of Lord Hanuman or light a lamp using jasmine oil, ghee, or sesame oil facing east. The prayer begins by chanting “Sri Rama Jayam” or “Rama Rama” 108 times, followed by reciting or listening to the Hanuman Chalisa seven times, and offering a banana as a simple offering.
A key part of this remedy involves writing down one’s problems or wishes on a plain, unlined white paper using any pen except black, with red ink being highly preferred. Written like a personal letter to Lord Hanuman, the paper is placed near the deity or lamp during prayers and must be either burned to ashes or dissolved in water before going to sleep that same night. To maintain spiritual purity, participants must strictly avoid non-vegetarian food, and the ritual should not be performed during periods or times of family pollution.
