Candidates Protest and Pelt Stones over Lack of Exam Trains in Bihar

A violent protest erupted at the Patliputra railway station in Bihar as candidates appearing for a police recruitment examination clashed with police and pelted stones over the lack of adequate train services. The situation escalated quickly, leading to the suspension of train services and significant tension at the railway station.

Around 250 candidates gathered on the platforms, shouting slogans and blocking the railway tracks. The protesters vandalized a special train that had been arranged for the exam. To bring the situation under control, the police resorted to a lathi-charge and fired tear gas shells. Several police officers, including Patna Inspector General (IG) Jitendra Rana, sustained injuries during the stone-pelting.

Railway authorities stated that they had requested special train services for the candidates. However, the crowd grew angry, and officials suspect that some anti-social elements joined the students to fuel the violence. IG Jitendra Rana confirmed that strict action will be taken against those involved in the stone-pelting.
