In a startling incident in Pathanamthitta, a venomous viper blocked the entrance of a Canara Bank branch, temporarily preventing employees from opening the office. The snake was spotted nestled near the shutter lock when staff arrived for their morning shift.
The incident occurred around 10:00 AM at the Canara Bank branch located opposite the Tanima Hotel in Pathanamthitta. The small viper was found inside a tiny crevice near the shutter’s lock. Because the employees noticed the snake in time, a major mishap was averted. However, the bank’s opening was delayed by about 45 minutes as staff were unable to enter the building.
A snake catcher from the Rapid Response Team (RRT) soon arrived at the scene and successfully captured the viper. Officials confirmed that the snake would be handed over to the Forest Department to be safely released back into the forest.
