Malayalam actor-director Dhyan Sreenivasan has shared candid insights about his personal transformation, revealing how the birth of his daughter motivated him to completely quit alcohol and synthetic drugs. Speaking in a recent interview, Dhyan discussed his past struggles with addiction, his career choices, and his family’s support during his journey toward a healthier lifestyle.

Dhyan revealed that his brother, Vineeth Sreenivasan, had previously pleaded with him emotionally, even crying, to get him to quit his bad habits. While his wife Arpitha had also expressed concern, it was the birth of his daughter that finally served as a wake-up call. He realized the importance of living a long life to see her grow up and eventually get married. He admitted to past reckless behaviors, including heavy drinking sessions that lasted until dawn and drink-and-drive incidents in Chennai.

Reflecting on his career, Dhyan noted that he treats continuous acting work as a form of rehabilitation to keep himself occupied and disciplined. He also shared his joy regarding his father, veteran actor Sreenivasan, who despite his poor health, attended a screening of Dhyan’s film ‘Nadhikalil Sundari Yamuna’ in a wheelchair. Dhyan expressed immense happiness upon hearing from his mother that his father thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
