Drishyam 3 Leaked on Telegram Within 48 Hours of Theatrical Release

Drishyam 3, the highly anticipated Mohanlal starrer and the third installment in the blockbuster Drishyam franchise, has been leaked on Telegram within just 48 hours of its theatrical release. The pirated version is reportedly circulating across multiple Telegram channels and groups, raising serious concerns for the film’s producers and the Malayalam film industry.

The film had an extraordinary opening at the box office, entering the 100 crore club within just 58 hours of release. Released on May 21, coinciding with Mohanlal’s birthday, the movie received massive advance bookings and outstanding audience response. BookMyShow reported a record 3.62 lakh tickets sold on the third day alone, the highest for any Malayalam film since tracking began on the platform.

Despite this overwhelming success, piracy activists have managed to leak the theatre print across various online platforms within two days of release. Clips are also circulating on Instagram and Facebook, with clips recorded inside theatres going viral. The source of the primary copy remains unclear, and the producers are expected to file complaints and push for an investigation.

This incident follows a troubling pattern where major Malayalam films, especially those with massive fan followings, end up on piracy platforms within 24 to 48 hours of release. Despite various cyber measures taken by the industry, the leaks continue unabated.

Drishyam 3 continues to run to packed houses across Kerala, with Sunday bookings showing full occupancy in most theatres. However, the piracy leak threatens to impact the film’s long-term box office performance.
