The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is actively exploring legal options to arrest Veena Vijayan, daughter of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in a money laundering case. Sources indicate that the central agency is examining possibilities of taking her into custody for questioning or making a direct arrest, as part of its investigation into suspicious financial transactions.

The ED has already frozen approximately ₹18.36 crore across 242 bank accounts linked to the case. The agency is analyzing crucial documents and digital evidence seized during recent raids at multiple locations in Kerala and Bengaluru. With the Kerala High Court dismissing a petition seeking to stay the ED’s summons and investigation, the legal hurdles have been cleared, paving the way for further action. Political circles suggest that Veena may approach the court for anticipatory bail in the coming days, while the ED is preparing to oppose any such plea with strong evidence.
