ED Raids Pinarayi Vijayan’s House, CPM Workers Clash with Police

Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials conducted raids at the residence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, leading to a major confrontation between CPM workers and police. The searches, part of the CMRL month-old case, also covered 12 locations including the homes of Vijayan’s son-in-law Mohammed Riyas and other properties linked to the family.

CPM workers attempted to breach security and enter Vijayan’s house, throwing helmets, bottles, and stones at central forces. Senior leaders V. Sivankutty and Kadakampally Surendran later pacified the protesters. The ED has confirmed that the investigation covers all financial transactions of CMRL, including those involving Vijayan’s daughter Veena’s company, Exalogic, and other political figures mentioned in CMRL diaries.

Meanwhile, Minister K. Muraleedharan criticized the ED, stating that the agency cannot be trusted and accused the CPM of destroying public property under the guise of protest. He also commented on the missing gold from Padmanabhaswamy Temple, promising strict action after an investigation ordered by the Home Department.
