Two young women, who are part-time students and working professionals, were brutally attacked by a group of people at Chakkalapadam Road in Kaloor, Kochi. The incident occurred around 4:00 AM when the victims were returning to their room after finishing their work shift.

According to the complaint, a group consisting of six men and two women harassed the girls with sexually suggestive comments and verbal abuse as they walked by. When the girls tried to walk away quickly, one of the women in the group called them back. The attackers then snatched their mobile phones and smashed them onto the ground to prevent them from recording the incident.

The attackers physically assaulted the girls, pulling one by her hair, dragging her, and kicking her repeatedly on the ground. Both victims sustained injuries, with one requiring primary treatment at the Ernakulam General Hospital. The Ernakulam North Police have registered a case, recorded the victims’ statements, and launched a search for the suspects, including analyzing nearby CCTV footage.
