Popular Malayalam actor Jayaram recently shared a touching childhood memory about his son, Kalidas Jayaram, which has since gone viral on social media. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about his early days of busy shooting schedules and expressed his deep gratitude to his wife, Parvathy, for raising their children while he was away.

Jayaram recalled an emotional incident from when Kalidas was in the first grade. Having returned home early from a film shoot, young Kalidas eagerly took his father by the hand to a friend’s house. There, Kalidas proudly introduced Jayaram to his friends, saying, “This is my Appa. I told you I have an Appa, right? Do you believe me now?” Jayaram revealed that his friends had previously teased Kalidas and accused him of lying about being Jayaram’s son because his father was never around.

The actor admitted that this incident brought tears to his eyes and made him realize the emotional toll his absence had on his young son. Due to his hectic acting career, Jayaram could only spend time with his family once or twice a year during vacations. He credited his wife, Ashwathi (Parvathy), entirely for raising both Kalidas and their daughter Malavika (Chakki) so beautifully without ever complaining about his absence.
