The Nedumbassery police have arrested two individuals in Kochi for allegedly trapping, dragging, and brutally killing stray dogs. The incident came to light after an animal lover witnessed the cruelty and reported it to the authorities.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Puneeth Raj (55), a native of Valparai, and Ranjan (64) from Varapuzha Mannanthuruthu. According to the police, the incident took place on the morning of May 27 in the Desom Kunnumpuram area, where the accused dragged the stray dogs along the road before killing them.
A traveler who happened to pass by witnessed the brutal act and recorded video footage on their mobile phone. Based on this evidence, a formal complaint was lodged with the police, leading to the prompt arrest of both accused individuals.
