In Kerala, discussions in Delhi are actively progressing to find a new KPCC president after the UDF government took power. The high command faces the challenge of selecting a leader who can guide the party with strength and direction. Currently, the KPCC leadership is vacant as Sunny Joseph, AP Anilkumar, and PC Vishwanath became ministers in the Satheesan cabinet. The high command insists on maintaining communal balance and avoiding public conflict between the government and organization. The frontrunner was MP Shafi Parambil, but new equations have sidelined him. Now, five prominent leaders are under consideration: Joseph Vazhackan, Benny Behanan, Kodikunnil Suresh, Mathew Kuzhalnadan, and Adoor Prakash. Among them, Kodikunnil Suresh, a senior leader from backward/dalit community, is currently favored. Benny Behanan is backed by the A-group citing his experience, while Joseph Vazhackan is pushed by Ramesh Chennithala’s faction. A final announcement on KPCC and Youth Congress presidents is expected soon.
