MBA Student Missing for Six Days During Trek in Uttarakhand

An intensive search operation is underway in Uttarakhand for a 27-year-old MBA student who went missing six days ago during a trekking expedition to Dayara Bugyal. The student, identified as Babitha, a native of Nainital, disappeared under mysterious circumstances, prompting a large-scale rescue effort.

Babitha had set out on the trip on May 25 along with two companions, Harmanpal Singh from Uttarakhand and Harmanpreet Singh from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. After visiting popular tourist destinations including Harsil and Gangotri, the group reached Raithal on May 28. This location is where the last CCTV footage of Babitha was recorded before her disappearance.

The local police have taken both of her friends into custody and are currently questioning them to gather more leads about the incident. Meanwhile, a joint search team comprising the Indian Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with dog squads and drone surveillance, is actively combing the region to locate her.
