Modi Immediately Called for Raids at All Locations Satheesan Mentioned

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has made a startling claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a courtesy call, immediately ordered Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids at all locations suggested by opposition leader V.D. Satheesan. Vijayan stated that when he met Modi for the first time after becoming Chief Minister, he jokingly asked Modi to raid the residence of his predecessor, Pinarayi Vijayan. Modi reportedly took out his phone and instructed officials to conduct raids at Satheesan’s suggested locations the next morning, resulting in raids at 12 places.

Vijayan made these remarks while defending the state government’s handling of the ED raids, which targeted properties linked to the CM’s family and CPI(M) leaders. He criticized the opposition for alleging political vendetta, pointing out that the ED’s actions were part of a court-approved investigation into a money laundering case. Vijayan also praised Home Minister for deploying police to prevent law and order issues during the raids, despite the state not being informed in advance.

The Chief Minister further questioned the opposition’s stance, noting that when Rahul Gandhi faced a similar case, Congress workers did not attack investigating officers. He emphasized that the state government has no role in central agency investigations and will only intervene if there is a law and order problem. Vijayan also clarified that political parties, including the CPI(M), accept donations from industrialists, but the current case involves alleged money laundering through shell companies, which is different.
