Mohanlal, in a heartfelt speech at a public event, reflected on why the entire state of Kerala united in demanding one person — V.D. Satheesan — as the Chief Minister. Speaking with characteristic humility and wisdom, he shared his thoughts on the immense expectations resting on the new CM’s shoulders.

The actor pointed to two core qualities that define Satheesan: honesty and simplicity. He expressed his wish that no matter what else the CM may lose in life, he would always preserve these two virtues. Mohanlal described Kerala as one of the most beautiful lands on earth — blessed with rain, rivers, hills, forests, and sea — but acknowledged that the state has not fully utilized its immense potential.

He raised pressing concerns including road safety, noting that more people die on Kerala’s roads annually than in many wars, and those who survive with serious injuries often live shattered lives. Waste management and public hygiene were also highlighted as critical areas needing immediate attention. The growing drug menace reaching school gates was another urgent issue he urged the government to tackle with a firm fist and determination.

Drawing inspiration from Singapore’s founder Lee Kuan Yew, Mohanlal expressed confidence that Satheesan, as a well-read and thoughtful leader with a Nehruvian socialist vision, could dream big and work hard to build a new Kerala. He offered his full support, stating that as an artist and citizen, he stands ready to help. “Lead us from the front with courage. Let us come together and transform Kerala,” he concluded.
