Muslim Girl Brings Home Goddess from Temple, Says Deity Agreed to Come

A 16-year-old Muslim girl from a Thangal family in Kanjirappally has reportedly brought home a goddess from a local temple, claiming the deity agreed to accompany her. Sarah Sajjad, who was born into a family of Islamic scholars, now considers herself a devotee of the goddess and has set up a shrine in her home.

Sarah’s father is a communist, and her mother is a Sayyida, a descendant of the Prophet. The teenager, who previously opposed the hijab ban in Karnataka and has since stopped wearing the headscarf, now participates in RSS-affiliated Balagokulam events. She has studied Kalaripayattu and music, and openly states that all religions are true.

The story highlights a growing trend of syncretism in Kerala, where some Muslims are embracing Hindu spiritual practices. The video’s host, Fakhruddin Panthavoor, expresses shock at Sarah’s transformation, noting that such liberal lifestyles often face criticism, as seen in the case of actress Anseeba Hassan, who was called a jihadist for visiting temples.
