Nedumangad Child Death: Grandmother Reveals Shocking Details of Abuse and Neglect

The tragic death of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy in Nedumangad has taken a shocking turn following grave allegations of physical abuse raised by his grandmother. The grandmother has accused the child’s mother, Akhila, and her partner, Ashkar, of severe negligence and deliberate violence, which she believes ultimately led to the child’s untimely demise.

According to the grandmother, she had previously approached the Nedumangad police expressing deep concern for the child’s safety. She recalled her horror at seeing the toddler with plaster casts on both of his arms. While the mother’s partner claimed the injuries were caused by a fall from a bicycle, the grandmother strongly suspected foul play, noting that there were no scratches on the child’s face to support such a fall. She had even pleaded with police officials to grant her custody of the child so she could protect him, but her requests were rejected as the mother refused to hand him over.

The grandmother recounted the devastating moment she learned of the child’s death after he was rushed to Maria Hospital in a critical state. Upon examining the child’s body at the mortuary, she observed severe bruises and swelling across his body, particularly on his private parts, indicating brutal physical torture. She has demanded immediate justice and strict action against those responsible for the child’s death.
