In a shocking incident at Karikkuzhi in Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, a one-and-a-half-year-old toddler named Arshid was brutally murdered by his stepfather, Ashkar. The tragic incident occurred the day after Eid, sparking intense grief and anger among the local residents of Nellikunnu.
According to reports, the child was severely beaten by Ashkar over an issue related to feeding. The stepfather allegedly slammed the child’s head against a wall, causing fatal internal bleeding. To cover up the crime, Ashkar carried the unresponsive, limp child to a hospital, claiming to neighbors that food had gotten stuck in the toddler’s throat.
At the time of the incident, the child’s mother, Akhila, was away for a dance performance, leaving the toddler alone with Ashkar. Upon discovering the truth behind the child’s death, angry local residents vandalized Ashkar’s taxi vehicle. Both the mother and the stepfather are facing investigation for their involvement in the tragedy.
