Following the shocking murder of a one-and-a-half-year-old child, Arshid, in Nedumangad, disturbing details have emerged regarding the criminal background of the accused, Ashkar. Investigations and family testimonies reveal that Ashkar had previously subjected his first wife, Amina, to horrific physical torture, leaving her in a comatose state for the past two years.

Amina’s mother, Shaila, disclosed that Ashkar and his family brutally assaulted Amina, smashing her head against walls, forcing her head into a toilet closet, and even attempting to stage her death as a suicide after poisoning her. Due to severe brain trauma, Amina developed a tumor and remains unable to speak or walk. Despite the family filing complaints with the Nedumangad police six times in the past, officers allegedly took a favorable stance toward the accused, prompting senior officials to now investigate past lapses.

In a related development, Sunil Kumar, the father of Akhila’s former partner who died by suicide, has demanded an investigation into Akhila’s dance teacher, who allegedly connected Akhila with Ashkar. Meanwhile, an unidentified gang on motorcycles reportedly vandalized Ashkar’s taxi vehicle parked outside his rented house in Panavoor, where he and Akhila had been living in isolation with the child.
