Nedumangad Child Abuse Case: Post-Mortem Reveals Shocking Details of Cruelty

The investigation into the tragic murder of a one-and-a-half-year-old child in Nedumangad has revealed shocking details of severe physical abuse. According to the police, the toddler was subjected to continuous physical torture for three weeks prior to his death. The authorities are conducting a detailed investigation to uncover the full extent of the cruelty.

The post-mortem report identified 52 external wounds on the child’s body. Additionally, the child suffered severe internal injuries, including six completely broken ribs and five distinct injuries inside the skull causing swelling. Recognizing the gravity of the case, the police have invoked the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, and the investigation has been handed over to the Nedumangad Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP).

The child was laid to rest near the grave of his biological father, Akhil, who died by suicide two years ago. The child’s grandfather, Sunil Kumar, expressed his deep grief, stating he was never allowed to see his grandson alive and only saw him in the mortuary. The police are also investigating the role of the child’s mother, Akhila, as preliminary findings suggest the abuse by her partner, Ashkar, may have occurred with her silent consent.
