Newlywed Nurse Dies After Consuming Poison in Kasaragod

A 25-year-old newlywed nurse, identified as Ashwati, died on Thursday night after consuming poison at her residence in Kasaragod, Kerala. She had been battling for life in the hospital for ten days following the incident.

Ashwati, a native of Kuttikol, Bethoorpara, and Vattamthatta, married Rupesh of Cheetakkavu, Parakkala, a month ago in a love marriage. She was working as a nurse at a private hospital in Kasaragod. On the 20th day of their marriage, she was found unconscious at her home after consuming poison. Initially treated at a private hospital, she was later transferred to Pariyaram Medical College due to her critical condition.

The Kasaragod Town Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating. This incident follows two other recent suicides of married women in the district, raising concerns about domestic issues.
