The Indian Army has announced that the ongoing encounter in Rajouri is in its final phase. Security forces have surrounded militants hiding in a cave deep inside a forested area, as ‘Operation Sherawali’ continues for a sixth day.

Heavy firing was reported overnight, and security forces have destroyed the militants’ hideout. According to senior military officials, the militants are now trapped and unable to escape. The joint operation involving the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF was launched on Saturday following specific intelligence inputs. Initial reports suggest that more than three militants are holed up in the area. Extensive surveillance measures have been put in place to prevent any escape.
