Following his departure from the Chief Minister’s office, CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan has decided to stop using his signature black vehicle. He will now be traveling in a white Toyota Innova Crysta, returning to a vehicle from his previous official fleet.
This transition marks the end of the black car era, which was initiated in 2022 under the security recommendations of former DGP Loknath Behera. As part of his new role, Pinarayi Vijayan has reportedly requested the government for the registration number ‘99’ for his official vehicle as the Leader of the Opposition.
Alongside the change in vehicles, official residences are also being reassigned. V.D. Satheesan is set to move into the Cliff House, while Pinarayi Vijayan will relocate to the Cantonment House once its ongoing renovation and maintenance works are completed.
