Kannur: LDF leader Pinarayi Vijayan has accepted the people’s mandate in the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections, acknowledging the verdict for a change in government. Speaking in Kannur, the Opposition Leader stated that this defeat should not be seen as the end of the CPM or the LDF.
“We have faced many such phases before. There is no doubt that the CPM and the LDF will make a strong comeback with greater public support,” Vijayan said.
He emphasized that the LDF would function as a constructive opposition, supporting pro-people policies while strongly opposing any measures against public interest. Vijayan expressed confidence in the future resurgence of his party and the LDF alliance.
The outgoing Chief Minister stated that the UDF government, which is set to take power, should implement policies that benefit the people and the development of the state. He assured that the LDF would extend constructive support when the new government takes steps in the right direction.
