A government school principal in Thiruvananthapuram has been suspended from service for posting a social media message criticizing Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan. The disciplinary action was taken against Jawad Zubair, principal of Attingal Government Boys Higher Secondary School, just two days before his scheduled retirement.
The suspension order states that the principal attempted to create political polarization among students and teachers through his actions. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by a Youth Congress leader, accusing Zubair of mocking the Chief Minister on social media. However, a section of teachers has alleged that the move is politically motivated.
